Even small changes can have a significant impact\u2014new exclusions may be added, and coverage you\u2019ve come to expect might be revised or removed. Staying informed ensures you and your clients understand how these updates affect their protection.<\/p>\n

Why Promote the True Senior Guard Plan?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

AwayCare\u2019s True Senior Guard<\/em> offers exceptional value. Clients can lock in their rate up to 9 months ahead <\/strong>of their departure date. The application is completed based on the client\u2019s medical condition and age at the time of purchase\u2014not departure. This means if a client has a birthday before their trip, purchasing early could secure a lower premium.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

What’s New for the 2025\u20132026 Season?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As of August 1st<\/sup>, several updates have been made to the Senior Guard<\/em> plan:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

1. Application Required for All Ages<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Clients of all ages must now complete an application.<\/p>\n

2. Revised Application Wording<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The box for Parkinson\u2019s<\/em> now includes Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)<\/em> and Multiple Sclerosis (MS)<\/em>.<\/p>\n

3. Updated Eligibility: Life Expectancy<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The required life expectancy has increased from 6 months to 12 months.<\/p>\n

4. Updated Eligibility: Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

New wording clarifies:
\n\u201cRequires support with one or more activities of daily living\u2014such as eating, dressing, personal hygiene, or transferring (e.g. getting in\/out of bed or a chair)\u2014or shows reduced ability to manage personal affairs or make independent decisions due to cognitive or functional impairments.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

5. Flexible Stability Options & Easy Adjustments<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Senior Guard<\/em> offers up to $5 million<\/strong> in emergency medical coverage for stable conditions, with customizable stability periods ranging from 7 to 365 days<\/strong>. The application is simple, and if a client\u2019s health changes after applying\u2014but they still meet eligibility\u2014you can easily adjust the stability period to maintain coverage.<\/p>\n
